Collision Damage Waiver

For your peace of mind, Avis offers a choice of 2 optional waivers for your protection in the event of accidental damage to the vehicle. These are known as Collision Damage Waiver (CDW). Choosing limited cover means that in the event of an accident, the renter is responsible for repair to or replacement of the vehicle or part thereof (or the cost of damage repair, whichever is the lower)

Choosing super cover Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) relieves the renter of any responsibility for the full value of damages. (Refer table below for values).

Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) - Full cover

Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) - Full cover means that the renter is no longer liable for any excess payments arising from collision damage and relieves the renter of any responsibility for the full value of damages caused to the vehicle or any part thereof. No SCDW applies to group K, P, N and I.

NOTE: In the event of an accident occurring, while the vehicle was not driven by the renter, or other authorised driver, as nominated on the rental agreement, the renter will be responsible for the full damage to or loss of the vehicle.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)

The renter who accepts Personal Accident Insurance as well as all other passengers in the vehicle will be covered for accidental bodily injury while driving the Avis vehicle. Coverage is in effect up to "return date" indicated on the rental agreement or any Avis approved extension.
This provides a maximum cover of US$ 10,000 for the driver and US$ 5000 to be divided among all passengers who are claimants. The benefit payable for medical expenses amount US$ 500 will be divided equally among all occupants of the insured vehicle.

Theft Protection

Avis offers an optional Theft Protection waiver (TP). Limited cover means that if the vehicle or any part of it is stolen while in your possession, you will be responsible for the replacement up to the specified amount reflected on the Rates Table.

Declining this option means that you are liable for the full amount of the damages of the total responsibility as reflected on the Rates Table. Authorisation will be gained to secure the amount of the excess for the duration of the rental on your credit card. Personal belongings in the car are not covered.

Important

Under penalty of cancellation of insurance, cars must be used only by those approved by Avis. Clients should notify Avis of any additional driver when renting the vehicle. A flat-rate of Rs. 300 per driver, per rental will be charged.
